Jaime O. Martinez

Dr. Jaime O. Martinez is a graduate of Rutgers University College of Pharmacy and the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He has been practicing Anesthesia since 2004. He completed his internship at Abington Memorial Hospital where he was named Intern of the Year.  He completed his training in anesthesia at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania during which time he spent 7 months at the country’s number one children’s hospital, the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. 

Dr. Martinez is a Fellow of the American Society of Anesthesiologists. He serves on various committees at CentraState Medical Center.

Dr. Martinez enjoys spending time with his family at the Jersey Shore. He is a father of 3 beautiful girls.

Having grown up in Monmouth County, it has been his life long dream to bring back the skills he has acquired at one of the world’s most renowned hospitals and care for patients with the utmost compassion and skill.

Nader Fahmy

Dr. Fahmy was born in Newark, NJ, raised in North Caldwell, NJ then later moved to Marlboro, NJ where he joined Liberty anesthesia in 2004. He completed medical school at Cairo University School of Medicine and completed his residency in Anesthesiology at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Medical Center in New York City.  He is currently the vice-chairman of the department of anesthesiology and is the director of outpatient anesthesia services. He currently practices at Centrastate Medical Center, Freehold Surgical Center, Center for Ambulatory and Minimally Invasive Surgery and Northern Monmouth Surgical Center.

Dr. Fahmy has long been interested in regional anesthesia and peripheral nerve blocks for surgery and post-operative pain relief. He is a member of American Society of Anesthesiologists, NJ State Society of Anesthesiologists.  He is Board Certified in Anesthesiology. 

Dr. Fahmy’s interests include golf, skiing, scuba diving and traveling. When not working he spends time with his wife Nancy, and their twin girls Julia and Ava.

Samuel Zachary

Dr. Zachary is a graduate of Rutgers University and attended medical school at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, NY.  He completed his internship at Christ Hospital UMDNJ and his Residency in Anesthesia at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center.  He is a fellow of the American Society of Anesthesiologists.  In addition, he has completed additional training in nerve conduction studies and Electromyography to become certified in this field.

Dr. Zachary was raised in Marlboro and after completing his training he joined Liberty Anesthesia in 2009 .  He has since returned to the area to raise his family.  He enjoys spending time with his wife, twin daughters, and son.  Dr. Zachary believes that patient education is a powerful tool in easing a patient's fears concerning their upcoming surgury and encourages patients to contact him with any questions or concerns.

Mariam Ghobriel

Dr. Ghobriel completed her fellowship training in interventional pain management at the prestigious Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. Following that Dr. Ghobriel joined Liberty Anesthesia as a staff anesthesiologist at Centrastate hospital. She now heads the Liberty Pain Center as the Clinical Director.

Dr. Ghobriel is double board-certified in anesthesiology and pain mangement by the American Board of Anesthesiology

Dr. Ghobriel is the sole in-house pain management specialist at Centrastate hospital, responsible for managing acute care patients including but not limited to; spine injuries, cancer pain and postoperative pain. Her training and practice focuses primarily on the treatment of all disorders of the spine using a combination of conservative treatments as well as state of the art techniques for spine and joint injection and minimally invasive surgery.

Dr. Ghobriel also takes a personal approach towards managing her patients with focus on how their ailments affect their daily activities, goals, and sense of well- being. She is very active in her community, conducting a series of community lectures to increase the public's awareness of the latest in pain management techniques and therapies.

Dr. Ghobriel is also involved in staff teaching in the field of pain management with lectures conducted for the nursing staff and the family residency physicians.She is also a member of the following societies: America Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, Interventional Spinal Injection Society, American Society of Anesthesiologists and American Medical Association.

Dr. Ghobriel lives in Monmouth County with her husband and three children. She enjoys reading, swimming and photography. She is also a member of several charitable organizations locally and internationally.

Albert C. Scarmato Jr.

Dr. Scarmato is a Board Certified Anesthesiologist who is a graduate of Rutgers University and New York College of Osteopathic Medicine of The New York Institute of Technology. He completed his internship at Union Hospital and continued his training in anesthesia at Saint Barnabas Medical Center where he served as Chief Resident. As a Fellow of the American Society of Anesthesiologist, Dr. Scarmato practices in multiple institutions: Centra State Medical Center, Freehold Surgical Center, Center for Ambulatory and Minimally Invasive Surgery, and Northern Monmouth Medical Center.

Dr. Scarmato was raised in Jamesburg, NJ, and feels that a great deal of how he practices medicine is rooted in his involvement in community service. As a member of the Jamesburg Volunteer Fire Department, Jamesburg Volunteer First Aid and Rescue Squad, and serving on the National Forest Fire Team of the New Jersey Forest Fire Service he has learned how to make sound judgements in the face of adversity while maintaining his composure and compassion for patients and their families.

His practice interests are broad, however, regional anesthesia, obstetrical anesthesia, and critical care medicine are areas of anesthesia that he particularly enjoys.

When not at work he enjoys playing hockey, fishing, golfing and traveling. However, his favorite thing to do is spend time with his favorite person on the planet, his son Albert.

Poornima Deshmukh

Dr. Deshmukh completed her anesthesia training from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in June of 2004. She was the chief resident of the program during her last year of residency. She is board certified in Anesthesiology . Before she came to the United States in 1997, she has completed an anesthesiology residency in India and is board certified in India too. She has been with Liberty Anesthesia since July of 2004 and is the Director of Obstetric Anesthesia at Centrastate Medical Center. Her training emphasized pediatric anesthesia during her training in India as well as in the US. She is known for very good patient care, attention to detail especially in difficult cases and great procedural skills.

Dr. Deshmukh lives in the area with her husband and her two children. Her interests are cooking, dancing, music and most of all, getting involved in her kids' activities.

James Stump

Dr. James Stump was born in Harrogate, England while his family was on active military duty for the US Army. Upon returning to the states, Dr. Stump spent his childhood in Maryland. He attended the University of Maryland where he met his beautiful wife. He attended medical school at the University of Maryland and completed his Residency in Anesthesiology from Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Stump is board certified in Anesthesiology.

Dr. Stump joined Liberty Anesthesia in 2006 where he is currently President and CEO. He is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists and the New Jersey State Society of Anesthesiologist. Dr. Stump is a fitness enthusiast. His other interests include reading, golfing, and spending time with his wife Denise and their 3 children.
